Hello, everyone, and welcome to my website and blog. The idea that I really even have a website is still crazy to me, but if you think that’s the only first that’s gonna happen today…well, not quite! LOL
With the help of an amazing friend who’s an incredible producer and also a very talented singer and musician, I’m currently recording an album I hope will come out maybe later this year. But you don’t have to wait that long to hear new music from that album, because the first single drops…
TODAY!
While It’s Gonna Be You hopefully has a universal appeal in that we all know someone going through a difficult, trying time, the inspiration behind the song is my incredible favorite singer/idol Céline Dion! If you don’t know about her very sad and unexpected diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome, the video in which she very candidly and emotionally reveals her condition is still on YouTube.
I KNOW full well she will NEVER hear this song, but the idea that the person I wrote this song for won’t ever hear it isn’t enough to stop me. Not only would I love for this song to uplift her if that was possible, but my more likely endeavor behind this song is this. It’s a call to everyone, regardless of your fandom or lack thereof, to get behind Céline with me. Even if you’re not a fan of hers or she’s not your style, I’m appealing to your humanity by asking you to join me in praying for her if you do that, lighting candles for her if you do that, or simply wishing her the best of health and happiness.
I don’t know if Stiff Person Syndrome can be beaten or if it has ever happened, but if it hasn’t, someone has to be the first. Everything we know, have and do today is in existence because someone was the first to do, imagine, work for and believe in it. If Stiff Person Syndrome has yet to be dealt with successfully and thrived in spite of, Céline could be the first person to do it. And that’s what I’m inviting everyone who hears this song to try to believe.
Over the years, in so many ways and through so many things, Céline has proven she’s beyond brave, resilient, strong and tough. We KNOW she wants to, so if she can perform again despite this diagnosis she has, it will be a remarkable comeback story and a marvelous, monumental accomplishment I would be extremely honored and would feel extraordinarily thankful and privileged to witness. This is my small way of being the little part of it I can.
Because music is so personal and ten different people could hear the same song in ten completely different ways, take this song for your own life as well. If you’re going through something that feels impossible right now, you may not know how you’ll get through it, but you will. You probably have before and you can do it again. Humans are quite impatient and want answers immediately, but life unfortunately doesn’t usually work that way. In time, though, we all eventually figure things out, and I’m hopeful this song can be part of what helps you hang on until your answer or solution comes.
If you’re a Céline fan, if you do social media, consider wishing her a happy birthday today. If you don’t or, like me, don’t feel like posting a message on social media, say a prayer or light a candle for her, or do a good deed for someone today. As the chorus in one of her songs says,
If we give a little of our love away,
maybe meet in the middle every night and day,
if we could hear just a whisper of what the heart needs to say,
it could sure make a difference in some small way.
We can ALL be the difference, so let’s get out there and help make it the world we want to live in!
All my best,
Christina
